GG–Liz & GG–Eddie decided to take me out on my last day up the town to the most famous street in Edinburgh called The Royal Mile.

We headed off right to the top of the Mile and paid a visit to Edinburgh Castle. It was very very busy with tourists of every nationality and GG–Eddie asked a nice young lady if I could have my photo taken in the Sentry Box — that was really cool.

We then headed off further down The Royal Mile and bumped into someone GG–Liz & GG–Eddie knew. His name is Tom Gilzean and he is the oldest fundraiser for the The Sick Kids Friends Foundation. Every day he is out, even when its raining with his collecting cans to raise money to help the Sick Kids Hospital here in Edinburgh.

We told him who we were and he said he knew my Dad Jack well as he is the youngest fundraiser for the Sick Kids and had done a grand job in raising so much money. We told him he had gone to live in California now and he said he hoped Jack would be back home soon because the Sick Kids Hospital needs more super fundraisers like him.

As we got to the bottom of The Royal Mile, I stopped for a quick look at the Scottish Parliament. Its a big building and I think this is where my Dad’s friend Alex lives.

We then headed round to Arthur’s Seat and Holyrood Park, a beautiful park right in the heart of the city, which was very busy with everyone out enjoying the sunshine.

I saw Holyrood Palace which is where the Queen lives when she comes to stay in Edinburgh.

We went back home after that down to Portobello where the GGs live and had a walk along the promenade where we met Gordon the Tractor Man. He cleans Portobello Beach every day and does a grand job.

My Dads know Gordon very well as he always let them have a go in the Tractor when he wasn’t too busy.

He was happy to let me have a wee go in his tractor too — that was super! He said a big HELLO to Toby, Jack & Noah.

Well that was my last day in Edinburgh. I had a super time and I also met a lovely young lady called Isla McDonald on Portobello Promenade. It was hard to say goodbye to her when it was time to go on my journey but I promised to keep in touch and maybe I will see her again one day, or maybe she will come and visit me sometime.
